Google can mine the web for historical purposes. That what BBC explains in this article. The idea is to allow every Google user to search for historical events among the web. Google News Archive Search allows to browse 200 years of history among digitised newspaper articles. Although, it will certainly not replace a good book or a teacher in history, it can help for students homeworks.
